Few more cards

I am in a "no crafting" mood, my darling son is down with a very high fever, so I am busy giving him  company and comfort :)
He is watching Harry Potter next to me, so thought of sharing a few cards which I made few days back.

The first one,  I made a few days back when I was experimenting with hand drawn flowers. I drew poppies and cut out a stencil. Inked the flowers with 2 shades of pink and of course, green for the stalks and leaves.
Added golden glitter in the center. A very simple card.

The second card is also a flower card. I chose the colors of the House Of Cards Challenge to work with. Handcut branches, punched cherry blossoms, stamped and cut out tiny birds.
Had cut the sentiment card stock into a leaf and added a light pink panel to it.

The third one is made for a friends birthday, she is crazy about butterflies, and loves bright colors, so everything is as per her likes on this card. I wanted to try out the partial die cutting for quite a bit of time, so gave it a try for this card. Using framelits would have been a lot easier, but I don't have butterfly framelits, I have a sizzlit butterfly so used that one. It wasn't an easy job, as it needs patience and precision. I am happy that it worked! Added a matching paper lace, and 2 tiny hearts to finish off.
The sentiment is computer generated, it is a huge card, since all my girlfriends will write in it.

I love these butterflies! My first try, so its special for me.

A closer look, added purple rhinestones

The long sentiment!

Inlaid heart die cuts

Another quick card to share.
Made this using the Color Throwdown Challenge colors.
Used the colored papers with the die-cuts, and assembled 3 different hearts,  a green and white twine, a very simple looking card.

Sorry card

This is my first ever sorry card, never thought I would do something that I have to make a sorry card :(,  but I forgot to do something important, and thought of making this card to show my sincere apologies towards the person.

used the cherry blossom punch for the flowers and the buds. Hand cut the branches, and a hand written sentiment, I don't have sorry stamps!

A few cards

Yesterday was a free day, my daughter turned 12 today so she invited a few friends for a play date and sleepover. My son went to his friend's house for sleepover,  and hubby had a business dinner...everyone was busy but me, so I sat down to make a couple of cards.

For the first one, I used a cheetah embossing folder,  inked it up with yellow and pink, there is a gradient layer too ,  sprayed some mist and pressed the card against it. Added 3 flagged panels and a twine,  fuzzy cut sentiment and done.

For the second  card, I used a die cut flower, and then went on to emboss it with the bamboo folder, I had used the inlay die cut technique, and added 2 tiny punched flowers and a rhinestone to add more dimensions to the flowers. The sentiment, I had cut it in a leaf shape and distressed the edges with green ink. I like the clean look of this card.

Used die cut flowers

Added bamboo texture

The last one, I had used a light turquoise card stock as base, added a dotted pattern paper, and a grid paper too...stamped the scissors and cut the paper and folded outwards, I wanted to keep the sentiment inside...was trying to mimic a look where you open and reveal something. The grid paper looks like it is not aligned properly, but it is. I didn't glue the bottom part, so may be that's why I couldn't get a good picture.

I used the turquoise color from the tape(?), the dotted and grid paper, trying to mimic the background of the picture, a scissors and a note with orange edges.

Circle of life

Made this card today after having lunch with my girlfriend,  who is grieving a personal loss. Took a break from crafting, and cooked a meal for her, my way of comforting her.
Ok to the card now, I used a textured turquoise card stock as base. Drew and cut a lion for masking,  used a white textured card stock for creating the circle and the scene. the words are from the movie "The Lion King".
The words and the masked lion are the highlights for this card. I did not feel like adding anything else to it.

I drew and cut out the lion for masking.

Inked sunflower

Looks like I am into flowers now ;), I am experimenting quite a bit with inks and drawings, made a few, will share all gradually.
Made this card yesterday. I hand cut a sun burst stencil and a sunflower mask for this.
Used 3 different shades of yellow to ink the flower. For the center,  2 shades of brown and black. Then added some transparent glitter glue.  Later on drew some grids. Stamped a simple sentiment and done.I like how it has turned out :)

Hand drawn Fuchsia flowers

Oh I have a bit of time to go in detail of this post. So many challenges are on with flowers, and for someone like me who don't own a single flower stamp can be a let down. But I still wanted to give a try at these challenges. Flowers and leaves are the only things other than micro organisms which I can draw reasonably well, I studied microbiology and botany for my bachelor's, and I had to draw a lots and lots of different types.
Anyway, last spring I went to Singapore, and I love visiting botanical gardens by all means. I looked through my pictures I clicked back then, and picked the Fuchsias to draw.
A single layered card,  first drew the flowers a leaves.  Went on to color using watercolor pencils, and then ran a brush dipped in water. Added some pink and purple glitter to the flowers. Inked the bottom to give a greenery feeling. That's all.

The pictures I clicked in Singapore.

My drawing!
